  • a manageable paradox (june 2026) | imperfecta.xyz

A manageable paradox is an art solo show featuring Erin R. Grant a manageable paradox. erin robinson grant | june 4 - 27, 2026 A Manageable Paradox (June 4-27, 2026) features Portland artist Erin Robinson Grant and her interest in the visceral materiality of the body and the uneasy boundaries that humans maintain with the natural world. Through her practice and by leveraging diverse media, Erin conceptually explores the crossing, blurring and elimination of such artificially constructed boundaries. In this collected body of work, Erin has captured moments of liminality: bodies eviscerated and unfurled to flora and fauna, the fragility of exposed flesh to feral specimens, and the fervent dread of the self’s collapse into nothingness. The title of this exhibit reflects the artist’s aim to create a moment of beautiful equilibrium from chaotic disintegration. Through drawings, paintings, and sculpture, Erin R. Grant strives to capture a moment of aesthetic stability in the continuous entropy that permeates our corporeal existence. In addition to conjuring beauty from decay, she has also imbued her work with a sensitive humor drawn from revulsion. By balancing temporal levity against inexorable obliteration, the art in this exhibit depicts a manageable paradox. about the artist. Erin Robinson Grant is a multimedia artist currently residing in Portland, Oregon. Originally from Indiana, Grant earned her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art and MFA from Indiana University. She has also attended the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia and the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland. Her work explores birth, death, and one’s abject responses to them. She explores these themes through an amalgamation of video, animation, drawing, installation, and performance. Grant has exhibited nationally at The Kinsey Institute, the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (MOCA), SPACES Gallery, and the Yellowstone Art Museum. Additionally, she has participated in several international residency programs, such as Spark Box Studio in Canada and Arts Itoya in Japan. Grant has exhibited at a variety of venues throughout the West Coast, including Gallery 114, University of Portland, the Umpqua Valley Arts Center, Blackfish Gallery, PUNCH Projects, The Arts Center, Verum Ultimum, Lower Columbia College, Central Washington University, and the Sanchez Art Center. a manageable paradox . explore the collection Quick View Mechanical Drawing: Black and Grey Bee (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $40.00 Quick View Mechanical Drawing: Bee (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $40.00 Quick View Mechanical Drawing: Bees in your teeth (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $55.00 Quick View Mechanical Drawing: Rotten Fruit (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $55.00 Quick View Mechanical Drawing: I’m Covered in Beeeeees (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $55.00 Quick View Sewing Bee (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $1,000.00 Quick View Root Creature (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $60.00 Quick View Bee in your Pot (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $45.00 Quick View Bee in your Pot (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $45.00 Quick View Vanitas: Bees (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $55.00 Quick View Vanitas: Skull (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $350.00 Quick View Meat Tree 3 (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $500.00 Quick View Meat Tree 1 (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $1,100.00 Quick View Possum Blossom (Erin Robinson Grant) Price $1,300.00 Quick View Rat Attack! • tapestry of soul (aug 2026) | imperfecta.xyz

Page dedicated to the solo show titled "celtae Arboreum' which features Mexican Surrealist Renata Santamarina tapestry of soul. sandra alderman | august 6-29, 2026 On view from August 6 to 29, 2026, Tapestry of Soul presents the latest collection by Sandra Alderman. As the artist explains: "Moving from the east coast to the west in the summer of COVID, Tapestry of Soul started weaving itself together organically as I unpacked what was important enough to bring. Using the ancient art form of encaustic, a medium of beeswax and tree sap, the pieces began to take shape as I leaned into what is at the core of me - country, community, climate and care for all people." This body of work is a personal inventory of the artist's heart, a connection of materials and thought. Alderman used the act of making as a healing tool to navigate these difficult times, and to tell a story about what is. As viewers contemplate her work, the artist asks a simple question: "What is in your weave?" Sandra Alderman's handmade medium (or paint) consists of beeswax, damar resin (tree sap) and pigments which she fuses with a blow torch on a hard wood surface. As Sandra shares: "It is a fascinating process with an intoxicating smell as the beeswax melts on my pallet. I am drawn to texture and the use of discarded bits of metal and paper to express my creative vision." About the artist Sandra Alderman is an award winning encaustic and mixed media artist living on the outskirts of Portland since 2020. Embracing the Pacific Northwest and its incredible beauty, Sandra and her husband live with 3 cats, 4 crows, and multiple squirrels and birds which have all become part of their family. Her natural surroundings have a deep influence on her creative spirit, as did her experiences living in diverse states and countries -- experiences that deepened her love for new places and diverse people. Sandra's main artistic focus is in the ancient art of encaustic, which dates back to 5th century BC. tapestry of soul . explore the collection We don’t have any products to show here right now.

  • hiraeth | imperfecta.xyz

This page talks about Blue Russian Beads - their original and story. Hiraeth. The term Hiraeth is derived from the Welsh words hir ("long") and aeth ("pain" or "longing"), often described as a presence of absence. The Hiraeth Space at Imperfecta is 1/3 live gallery, 1/3 evolving installation and 1/3 a home that never was. As an Italian immigrant that settled in the United States 20 years ago after almost 10 years in Australia, I cannot easily describe what "home' means. What are its flavour and smell? What its sound? Who's left inside? Alongisde marvellous artworks from Imperfecta artists, my Hireath is filled with memories - a past time that I long to re-inhabit, even if for only a day. You will find my grandfather's typewriter alongside childhood memories of afternoons spent in his studio, day dreaming. In a corner you may notice the chandelier that used to be in my mum's bedroom, as well as furniture from my family's home. There are abandoned umbrellas that I picked from Milan's street in my 20s, a beatup radio player that I used for my vynil records as a teenager and red brocade that has been in my family for several generations. Ask me and you will discover that each object has a story and a longing for a time that is and is not. If a piece inside Hiraeth has a number, then it is available for adoption. The rest is there for you to enjoy. Be gentle with all items and please touch only wit your eyes.

  • as above so below (oct 2026) | imperfecta.xyz

Page dedicated to the solo show titled "celtae Arboreum' which features Mexican Surrealist Renata Santamarina as above, so below. jacqueline myers-cho & patricia anders | october 1-31, 2026 On view October 1-31, 2026, this collaborative installation part of Portland Textile Month presents works by Jacqueline Myers-Cho and Patricia Anders. As Above, So Below explores the parallels between human emotional networks and the fungal communication systems beneath the forest floor. Suspended handmade figures hover above the viewer, connected by red threads that descend into a textile landscape below. Together, these elements show the unseen systems of care, communication, and interdependence that sustain life. The hanging figures embody imagination, memory, and human presence, while the red threads represent communication and the invisible connections between us. Below, mushroom-inspired sculptures, botanical forms, fabric, yarn, and thread create a mycelial terrain, echoing the networks through which fungi connect roots, soil, and ecosystems. Mycelium teaches us that survival is rarely solitary. Beneath the forest floor, unseen networks exchange resources, warnings, and nourishment, transforming decay into sustenance and endings into beginnings. Mushrooms emerge as visible expressions of a vast, mostly hidden system—a reminder that what we see is only a small part of the work that sustains life. Like the figures held by threads, we too are carried by forces beneath us, around us, and between us. We may imagine ourselves as independent, but our lives are woven through relationships with ancestors, ecosystems, communities, and one another. Connection is not an addition to life—it is its structure. Beneath it all, mycelium continues its work About the artists Fiber artist Jacqueline Myers-Cho blends portraiture, abstraction, and storytelling in a collage style. Recurring themes are self reflection, searching for meaning, transformation, and transitions. She received several awards and her work is in private collections in Australia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Australia, and the USA. Contemporary artist Patricia Anders moves fluidly between painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Her work has been described as quiet and patient and each piece she creates is the result of an unhurried process of layering, scraping back, and listening to what the material wants to do. She has exhibited her work in several galleries and group shows, and her pieces are held in private collections. as above, so below . explore the collection Quick View Doll Dress 50 (Patricia Anders) Price $100.00 Quick View Doll Head 49 (Patricia Anders) Out of stock Quick View Doll Head 48 (Patricia Anders) Price $200.00 Quick View Doll Head 47 (Patricia Anders) Price $250.00 Quick View Doll Head 46 (Patricia Anders) Price $200.00 Quick View Doll Head 45 (Patricia Anders) Price $200.00 Quick View Doll Head 44 (Patricia Anders) Price $300.00 Quick View Doll Head 43 (Patricia Anders) Price $200.00 Quick View Doll Head 42 (Patricia Anders) Price $250.00 Quick View Doll Head 41 (Patricia Anders) Price $300.00 Quick View Doll Head 40 (Patricia Anders) Price $250.00 Quick View Doll Head 39 (Patricia Anders) Price $250.00 Quick View Doll Head 38 (Patricia Anders) Price $50.00 Quick View Assemblage 37 (Patricia Anders) Price $500.00 Quick View Assemblage 36 (Patricia Anders) Price $350.00 Quick View Doll Head 35 (Patricia Anders) Price $50.00 Quick View Doll Head 34 (Patricia Anders) Price $75.00 Quick View Doll Head 33 (Patricia Anders) Price $75.00 Quick View Doll Head 32 (Patricia Anders) Price $75.00 Quick View Doll Head 31 (Patricia Anders) Price $75.00 Load More

Page dedicated to the solo show titled "celtae Arboreum' which features Mexican Surrealist Renata Santamarina ordinary magic . diane archer | november 5-28, 2026 On view November 5-28, 2026, this exhibition presents work by Portland artist Diane Archer. explore presales here The work in this show is an exploration of the physical and emotional aspects of place through the lenses of Deep Ecology and Bioregionalism. A practice of looking for the sacred in everyday life also informs Archer's work. By combining maps, images, natural elements, found objects, and personal relics, the artist creates meaningful, layered mixed-media assemblages. Feathers, seeds, flowers, bones, stones and household objects become visual representations of moments in time and particular spaces, along with the epiphanies that result. Ordinary Magic is a state of mind; a sense of wonder. The ordinary is extraordinary if we take the time to look closely and with curiosity. A nest, rose, snail shell or handful of acorns can be talismans that tell stories or invoke memories. A collection of objects can become a kind of personal map of a place, person or time. As Diane explains, "the act of gathering, arranging, layering, and preserving these materials prolongs my focus and attention. Each piece begins with its frame, where I arrange layers of maps and images I've collected to match the moment and place. The topographical and aeronautical maps might be altered, copied, enlarged and/or stained with homemade dyes. Next, images and words are either drawn or transferred onto the maps. Found objects are then carefully embedded into the surface (sometimes in vials or specimen cases). The finished work is coated with several layers of acrylic glaze to protect fragile surfaces." With her work, Diane Archer states her belief that the most important issue of our time is seeing our world and everything in it as an interconnected whole, of which the human species is but one small part. As she puts it: "I want the work in this show to encourage a way of looking at the world so that the beauty, mystery, and connection to ordinary magic appears all around us." About the artist Mixed media artist Diane Archer was born and spent her early life in Ohio, where she received a BFA from The University of Akron, and an MFA from Kent State University. In 1999, a residency at the Sitka Center brought her west. She fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and decided to make Oregon her home. In 2007, Diane was interviewed for Oregon Art Beat and in 2023 her work was included in the Harvard Map Library Collections. ordinary magic . exp lore the collection We don’t have any products to show here right now.

This page focuses on Gallery Artist Steve Eichenberger, including artworks currently available for purchase. gallery artist . steve eichenberger I perceive my “inner artist” as a separate, mysterious entity with boundless energy that wanders mostly hidden in the recesses of my mind, and regards me as simply the “meat person” to carry out its wishes...which is fine by me... Full-time Oregon artist since 1995, fluent in several media. Voraciously experimenting—since curiosity is on fire but life is fleeting. From my own inner experience (epic dreams, for example), and the relayed experiences of others, it appears our brains have virtually infinite powers of imagination. What an awesome tool to have at our disposal! Our intelligent awareness is a phenomenon that resists quantitative explanation, but I think it’s a perpetual illusion that sustains our perception of ourselves from cradle to grave. In other words, our imagination hosts our sense of who we are.
