Julie LIger-Belair is a Canadian artist that focuses on Mixed Media and Collage. gallery artist . julie liger-belair Julie attended the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Canada (now OCAD University) where she studied printmaking, photography, illustration and metalsmithing. This interdisciplinary focus guided her to mixed media art in an attempt to combine these different disciplines in a coherent body of work. For 20 years, Julie has been making collage and assemblage work often featuring vintage photos, finding that these, in of themselves, evoke imagined histories and feelings of nostalgia. As she puts it: "Their serious and stern faces provide an ironic counterpoint to the humour and levity I try to inject into the work. Alternatively, my pieces make evident a playful fascination with all forms of iconography, creating alter-pieces for everyday life, making sacred of the mundane. More recently, I’ve been working on larger pieces that combine painting and collage on wood cradle boards." Page dedicated to the solo show titled "celtae Arboreum' which features Mexican Surrealist Renata Santamarina signal/noise. dan gay | october 1-31, 2026 On view October 1-31, 2026, this exhibition presents works by Portland artist Dan Gay. Through this ongoing series, the artist is looking at the frayed edges of our perception, our distance and connection—the vulnerability and beauty of being an individual in the world, and the challenges of being together. As the artist explains: "Over the past six years my portraits have touched on many ideas and themes both personal and, I hope, universal. Sometimes the process is simply an exploration of painting, sometimes I'm trying to tease out some humanity from all the noise. This process has been both a respite and a challenge, deep work and comfort. I played with textures, tools, and time. I let go of rules and explored within the confines of a simple figure. I've met myself in new ways in the process. I've seen lost friends and shadows of unmet others; reflections of me, and of us. I hope you see something familiar here too, a reflection of what it might mean to be a person." About the artist Dan Gay (dang) is a multimedia artist whose sculptural work has ranged from monumental to minuscule, appearing in films, installations, advertisements, museums and festivals. Dan's ongoing series of improvisational portrait painting remains central to his personal studio work. signal/noise . explore the collection Quick View Reflection (Dan Gay) Price $800.00 Quick View Still (Dan Gay) Price $800.00 Quick View Turning (Dan Gay) Price $800.00 Quick View Softly (Dan Gay) Price $600.00 Quick View Bound (Dan Gay) Price $500.00 Quick View Set (Dan Gay) Price $400.00 Quick View Pause (Dan Gay) Price $400.00 Quick View Arrival (Dan Gay) Out of stock Quick View Here (Dan Gay) Price $400.00 Quick View Shifting (Dan Gay) Price $400.00 Quick View Into (Dan Gay) Price $400.00

Imperfecta Arts Collective is a non profit program designed to support artists through professional development, community outreach and residencies. imperfecta arts collective. Welcome to Imperfecta Arts Collective, a program that aims to elevate the arts by focusing on three key goals: hosting engaging art events, offering art residencies, and providing professional workshops for artists. By mixing local and international artists, this initiative will foster cultural exchange, enrich the community, and amplify diverse creative voices. Imperfecta Arts Collective is a complex and resource-demanding, as supporting the logistical costs of hosting art events while providing the resources necessary for artist residencies and professional workshops are costly endeavors. To successfully execute this program, we seek a combination of public, private, and individual funding sources -- this is the only way for us to not only run the program but also ensure its sustainability over time. This is why I am excited that the Imperfecta Arts Collective was recently granted fiscal sponsorship with Fractured Atlas , an international program that offers tax-deductible contributions to artists and art organizations whose projects qualify. Please support Imperfecta Arts Collective by making a tax deductible donation today by clicking on the Fractured Atlas star logo below. Here are the three key goals of the Collective and how we are planning to bring them to life: Art Events to Engage the Local Community Host regular art exhibitions, pop-up galleries, and community art events featuring both local and international artists. Offer interactive experiences such as live painting sessions, artist talks, and hands-on workshops, inviting the community to actively engage with diverse artists and artistic processes. Create a platform for diverse artistic expressions, including underrepresented voices, to elevate the art culture and create a deeper connection between diverse communities and artists. Art Residencies Provide a supportive environment for both emerging and established artists by offering dedicated space, resources, and exposure within Oregon City and its neighboring communities. The residencies will blend local and international artists, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and innovation. Artists will contribute to the community through open studios, collaborative projects, and outreach activities. The goal is to encourage artistic growth, creativity, and the sharing of global perspectives, thereby elevating the overall art culture within the region. Professional Workshops for Artists Offer workshops and training sessions in various disciplines, including painting, sculpture, digital art, and business skills like marketing and branding. Facilitate mentorship opportunities by connecting local artists with international art professionals, encouraging cultural exchange and knowledge-sharing. Provide an inclusive space for networking, skill-building, and career development, empowering local artists to enhance their craft and succeed in the global art scene. Curious to learn more ? Find here more details about the program. This project will significantly elevate the art culture in Oregon City and surrounding communities by fostering collaboration between local and international artists.
